Jeffrey D. Harris serves as a staff physician for Clayton Sleep Institute, examining and assessing patients, developing and managing their plan of care and contributing to the training and supervision of the fellows and residents at CSI.
Dr. Harris has broad teaching experience and responsibilities. He serves as Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonology for Saint Louis University School of Medicine and as a full-time Voluntary Faculty in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology for St. Mary’s Health Center, St. Louis. He teaches Critical Care, Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine for the St. Mary’s Health Center Residency Program and with Medical Students from Saint Louis University.
Among his broad professional experiences exclusive of training is service as Physician for the City of St. Louis in the Tuberculosis Clinic, Emergency and Trauma Physician, Level I Emergency Room at The University Hospital, St. Louis, Vice President of Medical Staff and Chief of Staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center, and Medical Director, MICU and SICU at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Dr. Harris completed medical school at Deaconess Hospital in Affiliation with Saint Louis University, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at The University Hospital, Saint. Louis University. He is multiple-board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), ABIM/Pulmonary Medicine and ABIM/Critical Care. He is a Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians.
